Aluminum coated radiant heat reflective fiberglass fabric
This high temperature, heat resistant aluminum coated fabric reflects radiant heat and is the perfect protection for covering equipment that is in close proximity to intense radiant sources such as super-hot metal slabs, liquid and molten metals or glass, open flame/plasma or engine exhaust manifolds.

This heat reflective fabric reflects 95% or more of the radiant heat that contacts its surface.  Constructed from a high-temperature base fiberglass fabric which is then coated with multiple layers of highly-reflective polished aluminum.

Designed for long term continuous operation at 650F / 343C, this sleeve will withstand short duration exposure up to 1115F / 600C and up to 3000F / 1650C for very short durations.  The aluminum coating melts at 1220F / 660C, however it does take some time for the aluminum to absorb enough heat to melt - thereby it can withstand short exposure to the higher temperatures.

Available in the following fabric weights: 11, 15, 16, 19, 21 and 35 ounces per square yard with base materials of Fiberglass, Kevlar and Rayon.

This fabric is also available with a self-adhesive backing.  The adhesive is acrylic based, and will burn-off or vaporize at temperatures above 400°F.  If prolonged use of the self-adhesive fabric above 400°F is desired, then alternate securing methods such as fasteners, wire or clamps should be used.  Personnel should avoid inhaling fumes from the PSA.

Materials that resist catching fire, burn slowly, or retard burning can be described as either "incombustible", "non-flammable", "non-combustible", "fire-resistant" or "fire-retardant".  "Self-extinguishing" materials cease burning once the flame or heat source is removed.  "Fireproof" is understood to mean that an object cannot burn, but few materials are truly fireproof.

Most of our products fall within one or more of the above descriptions: they resist high temperature, flame, fire, molten metal splash and weld splatter very well but may melt with prolonged exposures past their designed maximum continuous operating temperature.  They can also provide OSHA, ANSI-FM & NFPA compliance and personnel protection.

Using our products to retain heat or cold within pipes, hoses, enclosures or equipment helps conserve energy and resources, and reduces operating costs.
